Four Perspectives on the Conflict in Israel-Palestine

Preston Sprinkle

The conflict in Israel-Palestine continues to weigh heavy on my heart and mind, and the impassioned narratives about who’s at fault and what’s the cause of all this continues to dominate the online world. Over the last few weeks, I’ve tried to slow down and listen to various people who know much more than I do about the situation. And I’ve been releasing these conversations on my “Theology in the Raw” podcast.

Today’s episode is with Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger—an orthodox Jewish Rabbi, who’s a Zionist and a settler living in the West Bank. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this conversation. But I have to admit—I could not have been more impressed and pleasantly surprised with the conversation! It honestly blew my mind.

In case you missed them, here are the (now) four episodes I’ve recorded on the Israel-Palestinian conflict:

  • A Palestinian Christian’s Perspective on the Israel-Palestinian War: Daniel Bannoura
  • An Israeli Christian’s Perspective on the War in Israel-Palestine: Lisa Loden
  • Do Christians Have a Theological Obligation to Support the Modern State of Israel? Dr. Gary Burge
  • A Zionist Jewish Rabbi’s Perspective on the War in Israel-Palestine: Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger

I hope you’ll give all of these episodes a curious listen. Even if you find yourself disagreeing with some things, it’s always helpful, I believe, to hear different perspectives from well-studied people who are actually from the very place we’re talking about.
