Theology in the Raw Conference

EXILES IN BABYLON

March 23-25, 2023 | Boise, Idaho

To be a Christian is to be an exile. The Bible has a name for the country we’ve been exiled to: Babylon. As exiles living in Babylon, we need to think biblically, Christianly, indeed exilically—not partisanly—through cultural and political issues.

This year, our topics include: The Future of the Church, Disability and the Church, Multiethnic Perspectives of American Christianity, a conversational debate on the Problem of Evil, and a pre-conference symposium on Women in Leadership!

Different views will be presented. No question is off limits. No political party will be praised. Everyone will be challenged to think. And Jesus will be upheld as supreme.

PRE-CONFERENCE SYMPOSIUM

Thursday 9am-12:30pm. A Raw Symposium on Women in Leadership. Does the Bible say that women are permitted to serve in positions of leadership over men in church? 4 scholars will present their view, then respond to each other’s presentation, followed by a dialogue among the presenters, and then audience Q & A. *Additional registration required.

GEN-Z EVENT

Wednesday 6:30pm-10:00pm. If you’re between the ages of 15-23, join us for a night of live music, food, and a great talk on what it means to be a Christian in our culture today. *Additional registration required. Learn More.
